The Star Gold Coast CEO Resigns, Effective May 24th

April 22, 2024 World Events & Announcements

Jessica Mellor, CEO of The Star Gold Coast, has resigned, marking another departure from the company’s leadership.

Mellor is leaving the company on May 24th, but she will stay on to help with the transition and keep an eye on important projects.

Mellor took over in October 2023, having been COO since 2019. Her leadership was crucial in creating The Star Gold Coast, especially in spearheading the $2 billion masterplan’s construction as a joint venture consortium.

The group’s executive chair, David Foster, congratulated Mellor on her accomplishments and acknowledged her leadership amid trying circumstances, including as the COVID pandemic.

Her efforts to turn The Star Gold Coast into a premier integrated destination resort were praised by him.

The Star has started the process of finding Mellor a new CEO for The Star Gold Coast.

The Star is actively involved in the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane project, a multibillion-dollar joint venture with Chow Tai Fook and the Far East Consortium, in addition to its Gold Coast property. One of the ongoing projects is a 400 million Australian dollar (AU$400 million) hotel tower.
