SGHC, Ltd. announces resignation of John Collins from Board of Directors

December 22, 2023 World Events & AnnouncementsSports

On December 31, 2023, John Collins will resign from the position of director of Super Group (SGHC) Limited, a reputable sportsbook and gaming organization. Collins’ resignation was due to his investment in an NHL franchise; Super Group stressed that there was no dispute between the parties on the company’s policies.

Collins is presently a member of the Audit Committee and was instrumental in Super Group’s growth. Super Group ensures that everything will carry on normally even in his absence. Jonathan Jossel will succeed Collins in his current position. The company hired Jossel in May of 2022.

The most current third-quarter figures from Super Group show that revenue surpassed €356.9 million ($381.4 million) with a 16% year-over-year growth. The company’s expanding operations in the Middle East, Africa, North America, and Europe were cited as the reason for this expansion.

Collins’ decision to retire appears to be in line with his increasing dedication to NHL endeavors, particularly after he joins the ownership group and becomes an Operating Partner of the New York Islanders in July 2023. His considerable history in sports management, which includes time spent in both the NHL and the NFL, qualifies him for this new venture.

Collins was a lifelong industry veteran, and even with his passing, Super Group is still growing and expanding in the dynamic betting and gaming market. Both sides saw the exit as a change, with Collins being free to concentrate more on his NHL aspirations and Super Group maintaining its excellent performance.
