Lou Williams has announced his retirement from the NBA after 17 years. Known for his scoring prowess and ability to provide an offensive spark off the bench, Williams has left a lasting impact on the league.
Throughout his career, he played for several teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, and, most recently, the Atlanta Hawks once again.
Williams earned the nickname “Sweet Lou” for his smooth style of play and clutch performances. He was a three-time winner of the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award.
Drafted in 2005 with the 45th overall pick, Williams played 1,123 games in the league and averaged 13.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game on 41.9% shooting. Out of the 1,123 games in his career, he started in just 122 of them.
