Tabcorp Unveils AI-driven Technology for Responsible Gambling

May 5, 2023 World Emerging Markets

The largest gambling company in Australia, Tabcorp, has introduced a new responsible gambling technology feature that makes use of artificial intelligence to identify and help prospective problem gamblers sooner.

The business said on Thursday that it has teamed with Mindway AI to put the technology into practice. This is the first time the international AI platform has done so with an Australian betting business. According to the company, Mindway AI has installed customer service software in 20 different countries and has 6.5 million monthly active users worldwide.

“Our collaboration with Mindway AI is a key step forward in our commitment to caring for our customers, reducing harm, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience,” said Tabcorp Chief Customer Officer Jenni Barnett.

“Through this partnership, we will be able to better identify and prevent harmful behavior before it causes a problem and then put preventative measures in place to help our customers.”

“In this area, nothing may be left unattended. In order to maintain our position as a market leader in customer care, we’ll keep expanding and improving our capabilities.”

Dr. Amy Shi-Nash, Chief Analytics and Data Officer of Tabcorp, further said that the business would keep using data and analytics to improve the consumer experience.

“To identify potentially problematic behavior, Mindway AI uses a unique combination of neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and expert assessments,” she stated.

“Our technology and capability upgrades will enable us to more easily identify changes in customer behavior and introduce those customers before gambling becomes a problem.”

“We’re excited about the possibility that combines cutting edge AI capability with our in-depth knowledge of customers, culture, and human dynamics to develop the best-in-class customer care practice for the industry here in Australia and globally.”
