David Group’s $2 billion Nadi casino project expected to generate over 600 jobs
Sandeep Singh, the director of the David Group casino project in Fiji, said that approximately 600 people are anticipated to be employed by the $2 billion casino project in Nadi, with a minimum hourly wage of over $10.
Singh underlined the company’s dedication to providing local employees with competitive remuneration during a press conference.
According to Singh, investors were presented with a proposal offering compensation of over $10 per hour, with the objective of hiring over 600 local individuals. He acknowledged that, given the state of the economy and Fijian pay customs, there was a negotiation chip with the casino owners.
Concerning Fiji’s lower salary, Singh emphasized that the project will provide competitive compensation. According to him, the annual salary of employees will be set at a high level, between $30,000 and $35,000, in order to guarantee that the benefits package is attractive.
The plan calls for building hotels, an amusement park, and a number of other attractions in addition to the casino. Singh underlined the project’s all-encompassing strategy and the objective of creating a destination for complete enjoyment.
Singh also highlighted the project’s broader social ramifications, voicing concern over the younger generation in Fiji increasingly leaving the country in search of better prospects elsewhere. The goal is to provide attractive domestic employment options that enable individuals to stay in the country, earn a living wage, and provide for their families.
The David Group’s planned casino project seeks to address social problems including employment retention and community financial stability in addition to improving Fiji’s economic climate.
