Isle of Man Gambling Commission Suspends King Gaming’s License Amid Criminal Investigation

April 26, 2024 World Crime & LegaliGaming & Gambling

The licence of King Gaming, a well-known operator in the region, was swiftly suspended by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission.

The regulator said that it is aware of an ongoing criminal investigation involving firms it supervises in a brief statement that was posted on the Isle of Man government website.

It has therefore made the decision to revoke King Gaming Ltd.’s and Dalmine Ltd.’s licenses in anticipation of a thorough regulatory investigation.

This decision is in line with the commission’s resolve to uphold regulatory requirements and collaborate with the relevant authorities on these matters.

However, no further information was provided at this time owing to the sensitive nature of the ongoing criminal investigation.

King gaming Ltd., which oversees business-to-consumer operations, and Dalmine Ltd., a sub-licensee of King that concentrates on business-to-business gaming, are directly impacted by this ban.

The relocation is a big step forward for King Gaming, which has been making waves on the Isle of Man lately.

This has culminated in large-scale initiatives like its technology campus in Douglas, which the media has dubbed the “largest ever single private investment on the Isle of Man.” The company recently declared its intention to move a sizable workforce from Asia to the island.

The license suspension came after an operation by the Isle of Man Constabulary, which comprised armed police and purportedly resulted in the arrest of multiple people, according to accounts on local news forums. Not all of the details surrounding this operation have been made public yet.
