76ers’ Joel Embiid listed as out for Game 3 vs. Heat with concussion, facial injury
The Philadelphia 76ers have listed Joel Embiid out for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Miami Heat on Friday (7 ET, ESPN).
Embiid’s availability could change if progress is made, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Embiid, the league’s scoring champion and Kia MVP finalist, is recovering from an orbital fracture and concussion and has not played since a series-clinching Game 6 win vs. the Toronto Raptors in the first round.
Turner Sports’ Chris Haynes reported Wednesday during Game 2 that he had a text message exchange with Embiid. The All-NBA center told Haynes that Tuesday marked the first day he could use his phone because sensitivity to light was causing him pain.
