Macau landmarks go dark for Earth hour
Major landmarks across the SAR have turned off their lights for sixty minutes at 8:30pm on Saturday to mark Earth Hour.
The initiative organised by the World Wildlife Fund aims to raise awareness about climate change and is held annually.
In addition to a number of government buildings, major skyscrapers and casino-hotel resorts joined the initiative.
Gaming operator Sands China issued a statement noting that besides participating in Earth Hour for the 14th straight year, the company has been taking the initiative since 2013 to observe Earth Hour each month. All Sands China properties switched off their exterior lights.
