PAGCOR to introduce own gaming site later this year

January 18, 2024 Philippines Industry Updates

In the second half of this year, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) intends to launch CasinoFilipino.com, its own online gaming site.

The gambling operations of PAGCOR, which is now the industry regulator and grants licenses for online gaming, are being privatized as it transforms into a regulatory body on its own.

In an interview, Alejandro H. Tengco, Chairman and CEO of PAGCOR, confirmed the plan’s progress and said that the website will be live later this year. Although comprehensive profit projections for virtual gaming are not yet accessible, Tengco emphasized the noteworthy prospects, pointing out the strong brand appeal of Casino Filipino.

He saw the shift in the world’s gambling habits from traditional brick-and-mortar casinos to internet gaming, which enables PAGCOR to reach a wider audience outside of the Philippines. According to Tengco, major gaming companies all around the world are investing a lot of money in creating their own online gaming platforms.

Following a record-breaking gross gaming revenue of PHP285.27 billion ($5 billion) in 2023, PAGCOR anticipates increasing revenue from E-Games and new integrated resorts, with a total of PHP336.38 billion ($6 billion) in 2024. Tengco projects that the E-Games sector, which encompasses e-casinos, e-bingo, sports betting, and specialty games, would generate PHP61.75 billion ($1.1 billion) in 2024, making it the fastest-growing business going forward. He expressed his excitement about the extraordinary growth of e-games in the Philippines and underlined PAGCOR’s strategic focus on this emerging industry.
