November 16, 2023 AsiaKyrgyzstan iGaming & Gambling

Kyrgyzstan has granted two formal online casino licenses, marking the first step toward the legalization of casinos and iGaming.

Licenses were granted to Palmium and Internet Technologies Venice. The decision was presented in Parliament by Zamirbek Kozhomuratov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development. He noted that although the licensed online casinos are not yet operational, this measure represents a step forward in the nation’s efforts to regulate the gaming industry.

Furthermore, the issue of unlicensed online casinos operating in the region has been addressed by the authorities. According to claims, unlicensed online casinos in Kyrgyzstan could be forced to close if the country’s parliament modifies the laws governing gambling enough. Deputy Marlen Mamataliev stressed the need for gaming establishments to be close to authorized casinos and expressed concern about illicit gaming.

After Elbet d.o.o and Axel Capital emerged victorious in the lottery development plan, Kyrgyzstan made a step toward establishing a state lottery in 2022. Both companies, with more than 20 years of experience in their respective fields, were given the opportunity by the Center for Public-Private Partnership (PPP). The official launch date of the Kyrgyzstan State Lottery has not yet been announced.

One of the allowed enterprises is Palmium, which specializes in entertainment and amusement. Internet Technologies Venice, the other licensee, focuses on internet casinos. Imankulova Veronika Konstantinovna and Aiperi Tszeyevna Kalybekova are the directors of the companies.
