In 2024, Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality Ltd, a partnership between Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in China and MGM Resorts International, a casino company located in the United States, plans to open two additional hotels in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The hotels are slated to be constructed in Zhuhai and Shenzhen, two nearby cities to Macau.
Located in the Xiaomeisha neighborhood, MGM Shenzhen will be a 321-room seaside resort. Phoenix Hill is the area where the 146 luxurious guestrooms and villas of the Diaoyutai Hotel Zhuhai will be located.
The Greater Bay Area program, launched by the Chinese government, aims to integrate the economies of Guangdong, Macau, and Hong Kong.
In mainland China, Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality now advertises Diaoyutai Hotel, Bellagio by MGM, MGM, Mirage by MGM, Mhub by MGM, and MX by MGM.
With the most recent launches in Qingdao in June, the joint venture has been expanding the number of hotels it can accommodate in mainland China. In addition, they want to construct hotels in Wuhan, Lingshui (on Hainan Island), and Guangzhou (in Hubei province).
