Travel searches increase after Thailand, China waive visa requirements

Travel and tourism between Thailand and China will now be easier as both countries have decided to remove their respective citizens’ need for a visa. March 1st marks the implementation of this new policy.
Following this discovery, Chinese searches for Thai-related content have increased dramatically—by seven times in the preceding days. In particular, searches for hotels and airline tickets have more than doubled.
Residents of various Chinese provinces, including Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Shandong, and others, are increasingly searching for Thailand, according to Trip.com Group, Macau’s online travel agency.
The most visited places in Thailand by Chinese tourists are Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, and Pattaya.
China was first granted a temporary visa waiver by Thailand in September; this waiver was set to expire in February. But the new agreement will maintain the visa-free policy.
Large gambling businesses have shown a great deal of interest in the topic of casino license, which is now being discussed by the Thai government.
The first company to indicate interest in vying for a casino license in Thailand is Genting Singapore.
