Mohegan Inspire reports surge in popularity for non-gaming attractions

March 21, 2024 South Korea Casino & HotelIndustry Updates

Since its launch in November of last year, the South Korean integrated resort Mohegan INSPIRE has seen an increase in demand for its non-gaming offerings, according to its CEO.

During the 6th ASEAN Gaming Summit, Will Lee, the Director of Table Games at Mohegan INSPIRE Entertainment Resort, said that their resort has quickly established itself as a “landmark” in Korea.

During his panel discussion on “Emboldening the gaming experience,” Lee emphasized the need to offer a wide range of non-gaming entertainment options as part of the integrated resort (IR) experience. This is particularly important given that their casino only welcomes guests from outside.

The incredible array of games at INSPIRE’s casino, which debuted early this month, includes 160 electronic table games with a live-dealer stadium, 390 slot machines, and 150 table games.

Throughout the IR’s development stages, including the building of Aurora, a digital entertainment boulevard with an impressive 150-meter-long LED display, Lee highlighted the significance of digital content. This feature has quickly become well-known as a popular photo location, attracting many tourists.

Despite these advancements, Lee said that it is still too soon to tell how these technologies will affect drawing customers to the gaming floor.

The complex, which has a 15,000-seat arena, 11 restaurants, and 1,275 hotel rooms, is run by the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority. Large crowds attended many performances that the IR had previously organized before its official opening on March 5th of this year.

With additional facilities expected to open by mid-2024, INSPIRE has ambitious ambitions for ongoing expansion. These include Korea’s largest digital art exhibition center, an indoor children’s play area, an outdoor amusement park, and a food court with 1,000 seats.

The facility is expected to become Northeast Asia’s largest integrated entertainment resort after the reconstruction gets underway in 2016. By 2046, officials want to make Yeongjong Island a popular travel destination that can compete with established hubs like Singapore and Macau.
