Grand Ho Tram to host high-profile events to boost gaming, hotel business

According to Walt Power, the CEO of the Grand Ho Tram Resort and Casino in Vietnam, which has a casino open only to foreigners, the resort uses high-profile events to advertise its gaming and hotel businesses.

One notable instance is the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific’s “Fight Mania” night, which was broadcast on Vietnamese television and took place in the resort’s 1,254-square-meter ballroom. The Grand Ho Tram’s principal target market, South Korea, was represented in the six-bout schedule of this event.

Mr. Power emphasized the importance of these kinds of activities in bringing visitors to the resort—which is about two and a half hours away from Ho Chi Minh City—especially martial arts enthusiasts. He highlighted the positive impact of special events on the casino’s earnings, citing increased attendance during combat sports competitions, which cause the biggest weekend decline in revenue.

The Grand Ho Tram’s casino isn’t allowed to serve locals, but a good portion of its patrons are foreigners who reside in the vibrant city of Ho Chi Minh City, including South Korea and Taiwan.

Mr. Power underlined the resort’s advantage of being far from Ho Chi Minh City, which draws guests who want to stay overnight after events. To ensure that visitors have an amazing time overall, the resort also offers non-gaming activities including beach sports, a two-screen movie theater, and a golf course built by Greg Norman.

The Holiday Inn Resort Ho Tram Beach and the InterContinental Grand Ho Tram are among the accommodations available in the resort; Ixora Ho Tram by Fusion, a condominium hotel and villa complex, is slated to be added in the future.

In addition, The Grand Ho Tram provides a range of activities, including as parasailing, live music, and DJ sets, to enhance guest experiences and make lasting memories.

The resort’s ability to leverage its offerings and draw a diverse range of guests is seen by the success of events like casino VIP dinners, which supports the resort’s overall growth and success.
