PAGCOR launches its inaugural Bawat Buhay Mahalaga Serbisyo Caravan
The inaugural two-day Bawat Buhay Mahalaga Serbisyo Caravan was organized by PAGCOR, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, as a community-oriented event. The goal of the event is to provide 3,000 locals with medical, educational, and nutritional support. This endeavor aligns with the objectives of Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to provide crucial government services to the populace, as well as PAGCOR’s dedication to assisting and enhancing local communities.
The presentation of 2,000 educational prizes to college and vocational students is only one of the event’s many features. Each child who is eligible for this kind of educational support will get $10,000 ($180) annually. In highlighting the importance of vocational and technical education for the industry’s overall development, PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco demonstrated the company’s awareness of and support for these educational establishments.
The Bawat Buhay Mahalaga Serbisyo Caravan offers medical supplies and educational support to the local community. This entails providing wheelchairs, medicines, medical and dental consultations, as well as canes and spectacles, to elderly people. A total of $5 million in medical supplies will be given to this initiative.
For the two-day event, PAGCOR has committed a total budget of $50 million ($900,000), which will go a long way toward supporting local development. More people are beginning to recognize the part that gambling revenue plays in funding state and federal initiatives. For instance, Maryland, USA casinos send a sizeable portion of their monthly earnings—which came to $47.7 million in November—to the state’s Education Trust Fund. The community-focused initiative by PAGCOR is a prime example of the positive impact that the gaming business can have not just on surrounding communities but also on vital sectors like healthcare and education.
