The Star Brisbane appoints new F&B, Events General Manager

September 12, 2023 World Emerging Markets

At The Star Brisbane, part of the AU$3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development by the Star Entertainment Group, Dustin Osuch has been named general manager of food and beverage and events. The Star Brisbane is scheduled to open in early 2024.

With a career spanning 30 years, Osuch offers a plethora of experience to his new position, having most recently held the position of Senior Manager for F&B Capital Projects at The Star Gold Coast after previously working as an executive at Mansions at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. In this role, he will be responsible for managing a broad portfolio of more than 50 pubs and eateries in the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane area. This involves overseeing the operation of The Star Brisbane’s Event Centre, which has Brisbane’s biggest hotel ballroom and can accommodate events for up to 2,000 people.

He noted that The Star Brisbane offers a unique opportunity in the hospitality industry, given the caliber of the integrated resort and its potential impact on Brisbane’s dining scene.

Osuch highlighted the variety of dining options The Star Brisbane will provide, including a-la-carte, premium dining, coffee pop-ups, live music venues, cocktail bars, all-day dining, and the coveted Sky Deck, which includes a signature restaurant, a hero bar, and casual dining outlets—all with breathtaking views.

Additionally, he emphasized the resort’s dedication to promoting Queensland’s exceptional culinary and wine offerings through working with regional farmers and companies.

As The Star Brisbane is ready to launch in April, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane is a joint venture in which Hong Kong’s Chow Tai Fook and Far East Consortium each control 25% of the company and which Star Entertainment Group owns 50% of. The project aims to improve Brisbane’s culinary scene and provide doors for cooperation and expansion within the city’s restaurant industry.
