Mark Cuban Wants To Build A Casino In Texas

Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, wants to build a casino resort with an NBA arena for the team. Casinos are strictly illegal in Texas.

Mark Cuban proposed a multibillion-dollar integrated casino resort with a new Mavericks arena.

The Las Vegas Sands, which currently runs integrated resorts in China’s Macau and Singapore, sold its domestic interests in the US for $6.25 billion, just two months after the death of Sands founder Sheldon Adelson in January 2021.

The company is now looking for the next big casino in Texas. Mark Cuban, a billionaire, agreed to participate in collaborating with the company to make the Texas dream a reality.

“My aim is we’d collaborate with Las Vegas Sands to construct a new arena, it’ll be in the center of a resort and casino,” Mark Cuban said.

Mark Cuban’s vision for the resort is a full-service casino with slots and table games. The resort would serve as a one-stop shop for everyone. The resort’s plan is for visitors to spend time there while also attending basketball games nearby.

“Destination resort casinos, that will bring billions of dollars to the state,” Mark Cuban said.

Casinos and other gambling establishments, however, are illegal under Texas law. The Texas Legislature became more interested in amending the law to permit casinos, which would bring in a lot of money to the state.

Texas state Senator Carol Alvarado intends to continue the highly contested gambling discussion in 2023. She affirmed that she will propose a bill next year to legalize casino gaming and sports betting.

Despite legal difficulties Mark Cuban hopes to make Texas a great place where people from all over the world want to spend their dollars and time.

What is the one place in Texas that anyone who lives outside of Texas plans a vacation to visit? “There are none,” Mark Cuban stated. “There’s no destination resort in Texas where, if you’re residing Chicago nearby, you say, ‘Hey, babe, we’re saving money to take the family to Texas for a vacation, that is why I’m doing my best to get Texas a place like this so Texans and people nearby can also enjoy.”
