Genting Singapore appoints director of Resorts World at Sentosa
Andrew MacDonald was recently appointed by Genting Singapore to the position of director of Resorts World at Sentosa Pte Ltd, which is Resorts World Sentosa’s operational arm in Singapore.
The company attested to MacDonald’s suitability for the position given his extensive experience and skill set.
Currently serving as RWS’s Chief Casino Officer, MacDonald is in charge of overseeing all casino activities within the integrated resort. Having worked as a dealer at Australia’s Wrest Point Casino in Hobart, Tasmania, for the first four decades of his career, MacDonald then moved on to regulatory responsibilities in Queensland.
He has worked in leadership roles for a number of gaming enterprises, such as Jupiters Gold Coast (now The Star Gold Coast), Genting, and Crown. MacDonald served as Senior Vice President and Chief Casino Officer at Marina Bay Sands for more than ten years prior to joining RWS in 2022.
In this capacity, he played a key part in enhancing integrated resort gaming operations and casino marketing campaigns. Prior to joining the gaming business again, MacDonald had positions in investment banking as Managing Director and Co-Global Head of Macquarie Capital.
During his time at Marina Bay Sands, MacDonald held a notable position in the corporate department, where he played a crucial role in evaluating casino operations and formulating strategic suggestions for sites owned by Sands China Limited and Las Vegas Sands.
