Light & Wonder Inc (L&W), a provider of casino equipment and game technology, has revealed an extended multi-year global licensing partnership with Warner Bros Discovery Global Themed Entertainment to develop new gaming titles for customers through Light & Wonder’s online content aggregation platform.

According to an announcement made by Light & Wonder on Wednesday, the classic physical slot machine “Willy Wonka: World of Wonka,” which has been a fixture on casino floors for many years, will be the first title to make its online debut under this new agreement.

This collaboration will involve Light & Wonder’s in-house game development teams utilizing a range of highly successful brand licenses from Warner Bros Discovery, and these titles will be accessible in “regulated markets worldwide” through Light & Wonder’s OpenGaming System.

The gaming supplier emphasized that this deal signifies the next stage of Light & Wonder’s omni-channel content strategy as the company seeks to strengthen its position as a top global content creator through strategic partnerships.

Dylan Slaney, the Chief Executive of iGaming at Light & Wonder, expressed excitement about the partnership, saying, “The Warner Bros Discovery brand portfolio is legendary, and our partnership has led to the creation of some of the world’s most popular casino content, including Willy Wonka: World of Wonka.” He also added that they are eager to bring this title online and provide it to their operator partners and their players.

The digital version of the Willy Wonka game is anticipated to be launched in both the United States and Europe, including the United Kingdom.

As part of the global licensing agreement, Light & Wonder is also planning to introduce the digital version of another popular land-based title, “The Wizard of Oz: Road to Emerald City,” with more branded games from the Warner Bros Discovery portfolio in the pipeline.

Furthermore, Light & Wonder intends to release a series of additional Wonka-themed titles on its content aggregation platform, and there are plans for more Wizard of Oz games to be rolled out in 2024 and beyond.
