The Star appoints new Gold Coast property CEO

Subject to necessary regulatory permissions, Australian gaming operator The Star has announced Jessica Mellor’s appointment as the new CEO of its Gold Coast location.

This appointment is a component of an organizational restructuring that includes the establishment of Operational Business Units in Sydney, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast that are focused on real estate. A CEO based on property will oversee each of these divisions. Jessica Mellor previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of The Star Gold Coast.

In response to penalties and investigations pertaining to Know Your Customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) rules, The Star has been working on corporate reorganization and compliance. In addition, the firm has successfully bargained down planned tax hikes that might have had a major negative effect on its operations and secured finance to fund them. The Star is facing sanctions as a result of a wider regulatory assault on casino operators that emphasizes stronger compliance standards and damage reduction strategies.
