PH authorities nab individuals involved in illegal gambling

During the weeklong intensified anti-illegal drugs and anti-criminality operations in Quezon City, Philippines, from September 15 to 21, 71 illegal gambling suspects were apprehended in 27 operations that yielded PHP10,459 in wager money.

Including the illegal gamblers, 205 individuals were taken into custody after the said operation

In a statement released on Monday, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) chief Brigadier General Redrico Maranan stated that the number included 18 drug consumers and 30 drug pushers who yielded a total of PHP1.9 million worth of illicit drugs in 32 operations.

The suspects will be prosecuted for a violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In addition, the QCPD has apprehended a total of 86 wanted people in the city, 31 of whom are listed as the city’s most sought and 55 of whom are listed as other wanted people.
