Harry Roque to be Investigated by PAOCC Over Benguet Raid
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission will include former presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque in its investigation into the presence of two foreigners at a house in Tuba, Benguet, which was raided due to alleged illegal Philippine offshore gaming operations.
According to a 24 Oras report by Tina Panganiban-Perez on Wednesday, Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz announced this during a congressional inquiry after Roque informed the House committee of his interest in the corporation that owned the property in Benguet.
“With this development, we will include former spokesperson Harry Roque in our investigation,” Cruz stated during the inquiry.
Roque explained to the committee that he was unfamiliar with the individuals arrested by the Bureau of Immigration and the PAOCC during the operation.
“Hindi ko po kilala itong dalawang tao [na naaresto]. Inaamin ko po that I have an interest in the corporation that owns the house,” Roque said.
(I don’t know the two persons who were arrested. I admit that I have an interest in the corporation that owns the house.) Roque said.
The house in Tuba, Benguet, was raided, resulting in the arrest of two Chinese nationals allegedly involved in POGO activities.
