Number of passengers of Macau casino shuttle buses up by 57% in 2023

The most current data available from Macau’s Transport Bureau indicates that, in comparison to 2019, the number of routes that Macau’s casinos’ shuttle buses serviced grew somewhat in 2023.

However, compared to 2019—the last year before the COVID-19 outbreak—the overall number of passenger travels in 2023 was just 57%.

Bureau figures indicate that in 2023, the number of passenger travels made possible by the shuttle bus services provided by Macau’s casino operators will increase to around 35.96 million from 63.18 million in 2019.

Operators ran 281 buses on 59 shuttle routes in 2023 as opposed to 426 buses on 57 routes in 2019.

Free shuttle services between the operators’ locations and the city’s border crossings have long been offered by Macau’s casinos. Furthermore, a number of gaming companies provide shuttle services connecting their locations on the Macau peninsula to one or more of their locations in the more recent Cotai area.
