Due to legal issues, the SPiCE India event that was initially set for Goa, India has been rescheduled for Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The Goa event, which is slated for February 27–29, 2024, has prompted worries from the Society Against Gaming Trust (SAG), a local group. The organization drew attention to the event’s sponsors’ connections to unlawful gaming and betting websites.
SAG begged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene and prohibit these platforms’ participation, stressing the negative effects of illicit gambling on young people’s financial well-being.
Fearing probable legal action, the organizers relocated the event to Colombo, Sri Lanka, as the outcry increased. The revised date of the event is February 26–28, 2024, and it will go under the name SPiCE India & Sri Lanka Merger.
