Marina Bay Sands announces partnership with Singapore Tourism Board, UOB

January 29, 2024 Singapore Casino & HotelEvents & Announcements

A ground-breaking partnership between the popular casino resort Marina Bay Sands, the Singapore Tourism Board, and the Singaporean bank UOB has been established with the goal of offering exciting promotional events and incentives to the Marina Bay region of Singapore.

It was announced on Thursday that this project is a “first-of-its-kind tripartite collaboration” that would showcase excellent programs and bargains inside the Marina Bay region.

The first event under this agreement will be a drone light display honoring the Lunar New Year in February along the Marina Bay beachfront. “The Legend of the Dragon Gate,” a 10-minute performance, will take place on February 6, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18. The show will make use of 1,500 drones.

According to a joint press release, the alliance hopes to provide over 50 unique experiences spanning hotels, attractions, retail outlets, and eating places, along with other enticing lifestyle and entertainment alternatives, in cooperation with over 19 precinct stakeholders.

According to Kenneth Lim, Assistant Chief Executive of the Marketing Group at the Singapore Tourism Board, this alliance is an intentional effort to provide tourists with unique experiences that would boost the area’s liveliness around Marina Bay.

The three partners will continue to collaborate after the Lunar New Year celebrations to advance the Marina Bay area via coordinated marketing campaigns. Notable performers like Rod Stewart and Taylor Swift will perform in the first quarter of 2024.

The number of visitors to the city-state has increased dramatically; in the first 11 months of 2023, 12.37 million people came, up 130.2 percent from the year before. The parent company of Marina Bay Sands, Las Vegas Sands Corp., is spending an extra US$750 million to rebuild Tower 3, the hotel lobby, and the rooftop Sands SkyPark, on top of the US$1 billion allocated for the repair of Towers 1 and 2.

Consistent with its steadfast commitment to Singapore’s tourist and hospitality industry, the company has pledged to spend a minimum of SGD4.5 billion (US$3.3 billion) in property development, including the construction of a fourth hotel tower.
