AFC, Sportradar extends partnership to combat match-fixing in Asian football
Over the last 10 years and more, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and Sportradar have collaborated on several projects to stop match-fixing in Asian football.
On January 11, 2023, the eve of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, this relationship was formally extended during a signing ceremony that took place at The Ritz-Carlton in Doha. Carsten Koerl, CEO of Sportradar, and Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, President of the AFC, were present.
AFC President Shaikh Salman said, “Sportradar has been a valued, dependable, and trusted partner of the AFC for the past ten years.” He went on to note that since 2013, Sportradar and the AFC have grown closer as a result of their strategic collaboration, which has expanded to consistently defend the integrity of Asian football.
The success of this collaboration, according to Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl, shows the importance of teamwork and a common objective to preserve the integrity of AFC events. They understand how important technology is to sports and how it can get beyond challenges.
