An event organized by the Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) and financially supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Esports Hall of Fame 2023 Induction Ceremony honored the League of Legends team T1 LoL as Esports Team of the Year.

Honoring participants who made substantial contributions to domestic and international esports competitions in 2023, the ceremony was conducted on December 19 in Seoul, South Korea.

Many T1 LoL players received individual recognition in addition to the team prize:

2023 Stars – Choi “Zeus” Woo-je
2023 Stars – Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok
2023 Stars – Ryu “Keria” Min-seok

FC Online sensation Kwak “KWAK” Jun-hyouk, Street Fighter pro Kim “M.Lizard” Gwan-woo, and Bae “Knee” Jae-Min, a three-time Tekken EVO champion, were among the notable athletes honored with the honors.

An extraordinary turnout of nearly 20,000 supporters, which is four times that of the previous year, participated in a fan vote to determine the recipients of the Stars category at the Esports Hall of Fame. Over the course of the year, nominees were selected on the basis of their performance in regional and global competitions.

The selections were facilitated by the 2023 performances of T1 LoL players, which included a gold medal victory against Weibo Gaming at Worlds 2023 and a gold medal triumph at the Asian Games 2022.

The Esports Awards 2023 crowned T1 LoL the Esports Team of the Year, and Faker was also dubbed the Esports PC Player of the Year. This highlighted the group’s prosperous year. The Game Awards 2023 further highlighted Faker’s success by besting the category of Esports Athlete.

At the LCK Honors 2023, T1 completed its player composition on the All LCK 1st Team in the Spring. Individually, Keria emerged victorious as the most decorated player and Faker was named Player of the Year.

South Korea’s esports activity is managed and regulated with the assistance of KeSPA, which will host the Esports Hall of Fame in 2023. South Korea’s prominence in the esports industry is largely attributable to the organization’s extensive involvement in tournament organization, standard establishment, and equitable competition assurance across a multitude of disciplines.
