The winners were announced on Day 2 of SPiCE Philippines which is ongoing until today, September 19, at Shangri-La Mactan Resort.
Organized by Eventus International, this awarding ceremony aims to recognize the industry’s game changers and visionaries. The SPiCE Philippines Eventus Awards puts the spotlight on the pioneers and groundbreaking developments that are transforming the iGaming and sports betting sectors in Southeast Asia.
The SPiCE Philippines Responsible Gambling Award was given to the online gaming / sports betting operator that demonstrated exceptional growth and customer engagement in the Southeast Asia region throughout 2024.
Casino Plus won the trophy for the Responsible Gambling Award.
The company was able to beat fellow nominees Jade Entertainment and Gaming Technologies, Inc.; Okada Online Casino (Okada Manila); and Okbet.
In an exclusive interview with Asia Casino News (ACN), Casino Plus CEO Evan Spytma said about this honor, “Very, very grateful. Every time you win an award, you have to think back on who gave that award and it’s the players.
“It’s the players’ trust and we’re committed to having a transparent type of game that Filipinos can play and the work means a lot to us. We’re very gracious for it and we look forward to next year.”
When asked what factors could have contributed to them winning this award, he pointed out, “It’s really our dedication to following the KYC requirements and the large player base. Given that we have millions and millions of players in the Philippines…it’s not easy to send in all of the requirements for your ID and the normal KYC process. And we actually have multiple steps, we go above and beyond what is normally required. I think that’s what really contributed to it.”
The Online Gaming / Sports Betting Operator Award went to the company that demonstrated exceptional growth and customer engagement in the Southeast Asia region throughout 2024.
Jade SportsBet emerged as the winner, beating the other nominees Casino Plus, Bingo Plus, and Solaire Resort.
Jade Entertainment and Gaming Technologies CEO Joe Pisano told ACN that they were “thrilled” to have won the award. He credits this triumph to their “very powerful platform from BetConstruct.” Joe also took this time to express his gratitude by saying, “Thanks to our great staff who made the award possible.”
