Okada Manila operator enters agreement to acquire Emerald Bay Resort project
Tiger Resorts Leisure and Entertainment Inc. (TRLEI), the organization in charge of Okada Manila’s operations, has declared its plan to acquire a majority stake in the Emerald Bay Resort project located in Cebu.
The firm in charge of the ongoing resort development, PH Travel and Leisure Holdings, is to be acquired as part of the preliminary agreement. The objective is to revitalize and finish the partially constructed Emerald Bay Resort, making it a premier five-star integrated resort in Cebu and a premier Philippine entertainment destination.
According to TRLEI, the Emerald Bay Resort will likely open in 2026, and the agreement will probably be finalized by July 2024. The resort project was led by Dennis Uy, a businessman from Davao.
It consists of two 15-story towers housing 642 rooms in a five-star hotel, several pools, 18 food and beverage outlets, retail stores, conference and exhibition spaces, and a sizable gaming floor with 140 tables and over 700 electric gaming machines.
With this acquisition, TRLEI is consciously trying to strengthen its position in the Philippine integrated resort industry.
