In Central Luzon, 44 people were detained for participating in illicit gaming activities between September 25 and October 1 as part of an intensified anti-illegal drug and anti-criminality operation. During these operations, the government seized wagers worth PHP28,312.
The 349 people who were apprehended face a variety of charges as a consequence of a bigger operation that saw the arrests. Some of them allegedly participated in the region’s illicit drug trade, and many had outstanding warrants.
Director of the Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO3), Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., revealed that 161 fugitives, including 22 people on the most-wanted list, were among those detained. Murder, attempted murder, and rape were among the offenses brought against these people.
A total of 130 individuals were taken into custody due to usage of illicit substances, and more than PHP2.6 million was also taken. A well-known Sputnik Gang member was detained in a buy-bust operation in Angeles City, which resulted in the seizure of PHP750,000.
In his plea to the populace, Brig. Gen. Hidalgo urged people to assist law enforcement during checkpoint operations and urged them to report any potential police misconduct. He emphasized the dedication of law enforcement to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and well-being of all local citizens.
