The Top 5 Biggest Poker Wins in History

February 7, 2023 World iGaming & Gambling

In the past 50 or so years, professionals have increasingly earned millions of dollars. We give you a list of the biggest poker wins in history:

#5 Sam Trickett – $10.1 million
After a knee injury ended his professional football career in 2005, the English poker player went pro. Trickett had a natural talent for the game, and it only took him seven years to achieve what would ultimately become his most outstanding triumph.

After placing second in the WSOP’s main event in 2012 and losing the heads-up match to Antonio Esfandiari, Trickett earned $10.1 million.

In little time, he rose to fame in his native UK and established himself as the Uk’s greatest poker player ever. Trickett has made more than $21 million from live games so far.

#4 Jamie Gold – $12 million
Poker seems to be a pastime for TV producer Jamie Gold.
Gold’s most notable achievement came in 2006, when he took home $12 million in the WSOP Main Event victory. It’s understandable why he left with such a huge payout; according to WSOP, Gold has finished at more final tables than all of his opponents put together in poker event final rounds. It would appear that practice makes perfect, especially when it comes to making significant poker winnings.

He still routinely takes pleasure in playing poker, often in big events.

#3 Elton Tsang – $12.2 million
Elton Tsang Ka-wai, a Chinese Canadian poker player, is recognized as one of the top Asian players and has attained legendary recognition in the world of poker in part because of his $12.2 million victory in 2016.

Tsang had a lucky year in 2016, as he triumphed in the exclusive No Limit Hold ’em Monte-Carlo tournament over another 25 competitors. $12.2 million win by the Hong Kong resident is still the third-highest payout in poker history.

#2 Daniel Colman – $15.3 million
Daniel Colman is an American professional poker player. He is yet another champion of the WSOP, the competition that delivered him his greatest success to date and placed him among the largest poker triumphs.

Colman prefers playing poker online, but that didn’t stop him from winning $15.3 million at the 2014 World Series of Poker.

In a WSOP tournament in 2014, Colman, then 24 years old, defeated poker great Daniel Negreanu. Colman has received $30 million in live earnings to date.

#1 Antonio Esfandiari – $18.4 million
Antonio Esfandiari, an Iranian-born poker player, is on top of the list of biggest poker victories. He is the proud owner of three WSOP titles, with the second one adding $18.4 million to his bankroll.

In the 2012 competition, Esfandiari had to defeat 47 other competitors in order to win the title and the prize money. Esfandiari continued to achieve success even if the enormous sum is still the largest cash prize in poker history. In the same year, he earned his third title at the 2012 World Series of Poker Europe.
