Newport World Resorts Announces Chief Hospitality Officer
Newport World Resorts has appointed John Lucas as its Chief Hospitality Officer starting next year.
Lucas is the current General Manager of Hilton Manila, which is an accomodation brand part of Neworld Port Resorts.
“His insights will be invaluable as we continue to elevate Newport World Resorts to new heights,” the company said, as reported by Inside Asia Gaming.
Lucas is the latest addition to NWR’s executive team, following Nilo Rodriguez as CEO, former Chief Casino Officer Lance Gautreaux as COO and more recently Laurence Hawke as CFO.

This comes after the sudden departures of former CEO Kingson Sian, COO Hakan Dagtas and CFO Bernard Than in June, which chairman Kevin Tan has partly attributed to some “disagreements on management styles” among others.
“The truth is—just to put all these speculations to rest—there were definitely disagreements on management styles, mindsets, values, and misalignment on issues like integrity and basic ethical behavior,” he explained in an interview with Inside Asian Gaming published on October 25, 2024.
“There were misalignments and disagreements here and there, which is why it was the right time to transition to the new team.”
