Bloomberry’s Solaire Puerto Azul to open in Cavite: What You Need to Know

September 13, 2024 Philippines Casino & Hotel

Bloomberry is planning to open its third integrated resort Solaire Puerto Azul in Paniman, Ternate, Cavite.

Bloomberry Resorts Corp., led by tycoon Enrique Razon Jr., is advancing plans for its third Solaire-branded casino resort. The golf and casino hub, named Solaire Puerto Azul, will be situated in Paniman, Ternate, Cavite, just south of Metro Manila. Paniman is a coastal community in Cavite, about 66 kilometres (41 miles) southwest of Metro Manila.

In its September 11, 2024 stock exchange filing, Bloomberry revealed that it is in the final stages of acquiring the land for the new integrated resort. The company is also in the process of developing the master plan for the project. Contrary to local media reports indicating that it will be opened in 2028, Bloomberry clarified in its filing that Solaire Puerto Azul to open within the next 5-10 years.

The Paniman property is planned to feature a world-class casino, hotel, golf course, and various commercial and residential components.

Bloomberry stated: “BLOOM is in process of completing the land acquisition in Paniman, Ternate, Cavite and developing the masterplan for this project. While the timeline has not been finalized, the Paniman development is definitely a project that the company is keen to develop and open in the next five to ten years.”

Solaire Puerto Azul will be a significant addition to Bloomberry’s portfolio. Its properties include Solaire Resort Entertainment City which opened 2013 in Parañaque and the recently opened $1 billion Solaire Resort North in Quezon City. The casino complex in QC celebrated its grand opening on May 25, 2024, becoming the only five-star integrated resort serving northern Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

The new Cavite resort, like its predecessors, will be part of Bloomberry’s strategy to expand its hospitality and gaming empire. The project aligns with the government’s goal to enhance the local gaming industry by opening more integrated resorts in the Philippines.

“If you will just be in the province, and you’ll set up one, you have to have an investment of at least $300 million,” Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco was quoted as saying in a report published by the Philippine Star.

The planned development comes as part of Bloomberry’s broader vision to increase its footprint in the gaming and hospitality sector, both locally and internationally.
