Melco Unveils First Dolby Cinema in Macau at Studio City Grand Opening

On June 26, Melco Resorts & Entertainment will host the grand opening of their new Studio City Cinema, which will feature the first Dolby Cinema in Macau and Hong Kong.

This extension, which has 770 seats spread over nine theaters, is a part of Studio City’s US$1.2 billion Phase 2 expansion.

With the centerpiece Dolby Cinema, which features Dolby Atmos sound and Dolby Vision visual quality, moviegoers can get an entirely immersive experience.

Other theaters will have top-notch amenities like Dolby Atmos surround sound and RealLaser 4K projection.

“The new movie theater location will enhance Studio City’s array of varied entertainment offerings,” stated Property General Manager and Senior Vice President Kevin Benning.

This includes the tallest figure-8 Ferris wheel in the world, an indoor/outdoor water park, and a 5,000-seat multipurpose entertainment center.

Melco emphasizes its commitment to Macau’s tourism diversification goals, which seek to position the city as a global leader in leisure and entertainment.
