Macau Tops Travel Satisfaction for Mainland Chinese Tourists

In the first quarter of 2024, Macau is the most satisfying destination for Chinese tourists traveling abroad, according to a poll done by the China Tourism Academy.

Despite a little decline in its overall score from 2023, the city came in first.

The report claims that mainland residents’ interest in traveling to Macau and Hong Kong is growing. It also shows that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area is becoming a more integrated “one-hour living circle”.

The positive feedback, according to the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), is the result of cooperation between numerous Macau industries.

The city expects at least 30 million visitors this year, up from about 28 million in 2023. Remarkably, Macau is deliberately shifting its emphasis from gambling to meetings, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE) and tailoring its gaming offerings to a wider range of tourists.
