World Poker Tour Cancels Macau Debut
It is not possible for poker enthusiasts to participate in the first World Poker Tour (WPT) event in Macau. The tournament that was originally scheduled for June 18–24 has been canceled. It was greatly anticipated.
WPT just stated that the series “will not move forward” in its announcement of the cancellation, with no further explanation.
A HK$40,000 championship event and a high-roller option were offered by the tournament, which was organized in association with Wynn Macau and Allied Gaming and Entertainment (AGAE).
The WPT recently canceled its WPT Passport series due to what appeared to be approval issues, which prompted this declaration.
The WPT is nevertheless upbeat about Macau’s future despite the challenges. In an apology to players, their statement expressed their desire to collaborate with Wynn Macau and AGAE going forward in order to deliver “world-class poker tournaments back to the region.”
