Paradise Co. Sees Strong April Rebound, Casino Revenue Surges by 56%
Leading foreign-only casino operator in Korea, Paradise Co., reported a robust recovery in April, with casino revenues climbing 59.0% sequentially and 56.0% year over year to KRW84.1 billion (US$61.1 million).
The gaming table category, which grew by 62.2% month over month to KRW79.3 billion (US$57.6 million), was a major contributor to the noteworthy sequential improvement after a 31.5% decline in March. To KRW4.81 billion (US$3.5 million), machine income increased by 19.7%.
Even with a little decrease to KRW566.2 billion (US$411 million), it remained 9.6% higher than in April 2023. A 28.9% decrease to KRW2.30 trillion (US$1.67 billion) allowed for a 54.5% gain in casino income to KRW290.9 billion (US$211 million) in the first four months of 2024.
With a net profit of KRW84.7 billion (US$63.6 million) in 2023, Paradise Co. is a casino operator in Korea that operates four casinos: the integrated resort Paradise City in Incheon, which is a joint venture with Sega Sammy of Japan; other casinos are located in Seoul, Busan, and Jeju.
