March 13, 2024 Macau Casino & HotelEvents & Announcements

The Wynn Palace in Cotai will host the World Poker Tour’s first major circuit stop in Macau, known as WPT Macau, from June 18 to 24. This is the official confirmation from the World Poker Tour.

This historic occasion comes in the wake of WPT CEO Adam Pliska’s December remarks to Inside Asian Gaming on his goal to bring back tournament poker to Macau. The SAR is currently hosting its first official event in almost six years at the Venetian Macao.

Along with various side events, WPT Macau, in collaboration with Allied Gaming & Entertainment (AGAE) and Wynn Macau, will hold a Main Event from June 20 to 24 at a buy-in of HK$40,000 (US$5,110) and a WPT High Roller from June 19 to June 24 at a buy-in of HK$200,000 (US$25,560).

“Macau has long been a dream location for us to offer the WPT experience to the area,” Adam Pliska said, emphasizing his joy. He adds that WPT appreciates Wynn Macau and AGAE’s assistance in expanding their global reach.

Announcing her delight, Linda Chen, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau Ltd., said they are excited to work with the World Poker Tour to host one of the most prestigious international poker tournaments in Macau. She adds that famous poker players from all over the world will come to Macau for the worldwide Poker Tour, which broadens the city’s attractiveness and solidifies its position as a major destination for travel and recreation.

After WPT Australia and WPT Cambodia, WPT Macau is the third major tour stop in the area and the first WPT competition held in the nation’s gambling capital.
