Mayor Alice Guo’s Business Partner Under Scrutiny for Questionable P33.9 Million Bank Deals
Roderick Paul Pujante, a business associate of the controversial Mayor Alice Guo, amassed a multimillion-peso fortune in just four years despite officially declaring only a water station as his primary source of income.
An investigation by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) revealed that Pujante had extensive business dealings with companies owned by Guo. The suspended Tarlac Mayor is under investigation due to her alleged involvement in the illegal operations of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs). She is facing intense scrutiny for her possible links to a POGO hub involved in human trafficking, scams, and other illegal activities.
Pujante, who owns J and P Water Supply, is one of the three founders of Zun Yuan Technology, a BPO operating within the Baofu Compound in Bamban, Tarlac, where he also serves as treasurer.
Among the companies Pujante was involved with were Guo’s QJJ Farm and Inofinity International Trading.
The AMLC flagged 22 suspicious transactions in Pujante’s bank accounts, totaling P33.9 million.
“These transactions far exceed what one would expect given Pujante’s declared income from his water station,” the AMLC was quoted as saying in a report published by Bilyonaryo.
Zun Yuan Technology is the Philippine offshore gaming operator that took over from Hongsheng after a police raid in 2023.
