Dowinn Group Denies Collapse, Blames “Defamation” for Shutdown

Following its sudden shutdown, the Philippine junket operator Dowinn Group denied any “complete collapse” as reported.

The reason for the shutdown was attributed to “unjust defamation by external forces.”

This comes after Dowinn recalled managers and halted operations at casinos and VIP clubs, according to an IAG report that cited sources.

With a planned reopening of all branches on Monday, June 24, Dowinn confirms a temporary suspension starting on June 17. The places are Okada, Solaire, and Manila City of Dreams.

The closure safeguards “customer and shareholder interests,” according to Dowinn, but it gives no further explanation.

They do not say who they will target in their threats of legal action against those who are accountable for the closing charges.

The reported withdrawal concerns that prompted the shutdown were not addressed by Dowinn and were referenced in the IAG report.
