Travellers International Appoints Laurence Hawke as CFO Amid Executive Reshuffle

Laurence Hawke has been appointed as the new CFO of Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. (TIHGI), the company that runs Newport World Resorts, effective July 8, 2024.

Hawke, who was previously Group CFO at Hoiana Resort & Golf in Vietnam, will be part of the Manila integrated resort’s executive team together with CEO Nilo Rodriguez and COO Lance Gautreaux.

In TIHGI’s executive restructuring, Hawke’s hire marks a turning point, coming after the departures of Kingson Sian, Hakan Dagtas, and Bernard Than on June 1.

He will work closely with Kevin Tan, the Executive Chairman of Alliance Global Group, and report directly to Rodriguez.

Hawke has a great deal of experience with Asian integrated resorts, with a focus on corporate finance and gaming.

He demonstrates TIHGI’s strategic shift after the Genting Hong Kong alliance with his budget management, financial controls, and in-depth analysis.

In keeping with larger corporate goals, TIHGI recently underwent a reorganization that aims to separate it from its former partner Genting Hong Kong.

TIHGI’s dedication to enhancing operational effectiveness and governance in the hotel and casino sectors is evident in Sian’s retirement and the reorganization.
