China-Philippines Collaboration Results in Deportation of 160 Offshore Gaming Operators

The law enforcement agencies of both countries worked together to deport over 160 Chinese people who were involved in offshore gaming enterprises in the Philippines.

China’s strong anti-gambling stance and its dedication to international cooperation in fighting related crimes are highlighted by this move.

China’s official media reported that this was a major development in the fight against fraud and kidnapping associated with offshore gaming.

The Chinese embassy in the Philippines restated its backing for the government of the Philippines and pledged to further cooperation in order to address the “root causes” of the sector.

In relation to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) and their opposition to Chinese nationals operating such businesses overseas, they had previously communicated.
