WPT Korea 2024 Championship Event draws record of 1,065 entries
At the end of Day 1c, the WPT Korea 2024 Championship Event had attracted an astounding 1,065 entries, making it one of the largest poker tournaments ever held in South Korea.
The total prize pool has increased to KRW 2,603,286,000, or almost $1.9 million, as a result of the increased participation. In addition to KRW 434,936,000 ($320,000), the victor will also get the Championship Ring and WPT Trophy.
In terms of chips, Lin Yan (836,000), Hai Pan (616,000), and Renji Mao (545,000) are the three Chinese players in the lead. With 165,000 chips, the reigning champion Yin Tao is still in the running, while Valeriy Pak of Uzbekistan, who finished second last year, has 222,000 chips.
WSOP 2022 Champion Espen Jorstad, seasoned pros Phil Ivey, Stephen O’Dwyer, and Daniel Smiljkovic are among the well-known players who have made it to Day 2.
Two WPT Side Event Rings were awarded after a number of smaller competitions in addition to the main event were held.
