Empire Technological, Paradise Entertainment in US legal dispute

March 14, 2024 World Crime & Legal

A legal dispute has emerged in the United States between Empire Technological Group Ltd., located in Nevada, and Paradise Entertainment Ltd., a casino equipment supplier registered in Hong Kong, about copyright, asset ownership, and other matters. After Paradise Entertainment filed a countersuit, Empire Technological Group filed a first lawsuit.

A declaratory judgment that Paradise Entertainment and its subsidiary LT Game (Canada) Ltd had no ownership interest in Empire Technological and that Empire Technological was not required to get their approval before purchasing certain Aruze brand assets was sought by Empire Technological Group in a lawsuit filed in October in Nevada’s Clark County District Court. In addition, Empire Technological asked for a declaratory ruling, arguing that its gaming licenses and assets belonged to neither Paradise Entertainment nor LT Game (Canada).

A copyright infringement case was filed on March 1st by Paradise Entertainment and LT Game (Canada) against Empire Technological Group Ltd, Gaming Specialized Logistics LLC, Linyi Feng, Roy Kelcey Allison, and Daryn Kiely in the United States District Court in Nevada.

The brother-in-law of the managing director, Linyi Feng, also known as “Frank Feng,” allegedly exploited his position to get source code illegally and convinced executives and former workers of rival companies to start a new business. This is according to Paradise Entertainment’s lawsuit. Mr. Feng was identified in the complaint as a former director of LT Game (Canada), a Paradise Entertainment affiliate.

Empire Technological responded to GGRAsia’s request with a statement via Mr. Roy Kelcey Allison, the global chief operating officer of Aruze Gaming globally, a recently formed company under Empire Technological. Mr. Allison said that Empire Technological will vehemently defend itself against the charges made by Paradise Entertainment.
