The World Poker Tour has revealed that it will be returning to South Korea this year. The Jeju Shinhwa World’s Landing Casino will host WPT Korea from March 25 to April 3.

“We continue to expand ways that poker players around the world can play World Poker Tour events,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “After a very successful WPT Korea stop in 2023, we made it a priority to return in 2024 and are looking forward to an even bigger turnout.”

In addition to a US$2,000 buy-in main event with a US$1.5 million guaranteed prize pool, WPT Korea 2024 will include side events such as a US$30,000 Super High Roller and a US$15,000 High Roller. The main event of the previous year drew 758 competitors.

Juan de Jesus has been appointed tournament director by the WPT for the Korea tournaments. With more than twenty years of experience, he has managed tournaments at Foxwoods Resorts Casino and has collaborated with major poker tours such as the WPT, WSOPC, EPT, and PCA.

“The much-anticipated return of this thrilling event is set to electrify the atmosphere with excitement,” said Jenny Lim, Chief Operating Officer of Landing Entertainment Korea at Jeju Shinhwa World. “We invite poker players from around the world to return to Jeju Island, an amazing city! We are thrilled and delighted to host the World Poker Tour again this spring for an exciting two weeks.”
