Donaco International Ltd reports positive developments in its quarterly performance

October 31, 2023 World Casino & HotelIndustry Updates

For the quarter that ended on September 30, Donaco International Ltd., an Australian-listed casino operator, reported strong gains in its quarterly results. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) and group-wide net revenue increased sequentially. These sales were attributed to the “strong performance” of the company’s DNA Star Vegas casino complex, which is situated on the border of Thailand and Cambodia.

Donaco reported group net sales of AUD9.7 million for the quarter that ended on September 30, up 40.7% from the same period the year before. EBITDA was little over AUD5.7 million within the same time period, showing a notable sequential rise of 138.8%. It is noteworthy that this reporting quarter coincides with the start of the company’s fiscal year in 2024.

DNA Star Vegas recorded net sales of AUD7.2 million for the same period, which was 65.7% more than AUD4.4 million for the previous quarter. This property’s EBITDA increased by a significant 182.3% on a sequential basis to AUD5.1 million in the most recent reporting period.

Donaco’s Aristo International Hotel, near the Chinese border in Lao Cai, Vietnam, reported net sales of over AUD2.5 million in the September quarter, a 1.2% decrease from the previous quarter. The property’s EBITDA for the three months that ended on June 30 was AUD 1.2 million, a 6.9% decrease.

Donaco’s non-executive chairman, Porntat Amatavivadhana, expressed confidence in the company’s performance and recovery from the COVID-19 outbreak and emphasized the success of their strategy and operational execution. He also highlighted the potential advantages of more tourism in the area, which is being supported by a tourism campaign aimed at Thai tourists by the government of Cambodia.

The business predicts that Aristo International will profit from China’s consistent rise in traveler visits to Vietnam. Furthermore, work on building Sapa airport in Lao Cai, where the casino is located, is moving along nicely and should present Donaco with a number of lucrative business prospects when it opens in 2025.

By citing a cash position that grew from AUD16.7 million on June 30 of the prior year to AUD22.02 million at the end of the reporting year, Donaco further highlighted its emphasis on cost reduction.

The gaming company announced net revenue of AUD24.3 million for the fiscal year that ended on June 30. This is a considerable increase from AUD2.4 million the previous year. In addition, the company’s EBITDA for the most recent full fiscal year was AUD9.6 million, compared to an EBITDA loss of AUD4.4 million the previous year.
