The much-anticipated HallyuPopFest Macau 2023, a pop music event featuring South Korean artists, has been canceled, according to a statement released on Monday by Wynn Macau Ltd. The Wynn Palace casino resort in Macau’s Cotai area had originally planned to host the event on its premises on October 21 and 22. A statement sent to GGRAsia confirmed the event’s sudden cancellation. The organization apologized for any inconvenience, but did not provide a justification for why the event was postponed.
HallyuPopFest, known for showcasing some of the top artists in South Korean pop music, sometimes known as “K-pop,” has grown significantly in popularity in recent years. The list for the Macau concert was enthusiastically unveiled by Wynn Macau Ltd back in August and featured well-known performers like NCT Dream, SHINee, Hyolyn, Kard, Sam Kim, Verivery, Cherry Bullet, Omega X, H1-Key, and Nine to Six.
Wynn Macau Ltd promised to aggressively work with authorised ticketing systems to arrange ticket refunds for dissatisfied attendees in reaction to the festival’s cancellation.
It’s important to note that the HallyuPopFest has had foreign versions in the past. Singapore hosted the festival’s first two iterations in 2018 and 2019. The event then expanded to other countries, with editions held in 2017 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, and London, United Kingdom.
