Mainland tourists offered Hengqin-Macau tour package

Tour groups from mainland China are now being offered packages that include non-gambling activities on Hengqin Island and a visit to a hotel in Macau.

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and a number of well-known online tourism companies on the mainland will work together. The goal of this relationship is to spread the word about trips between Macau and Hengqin that are made to fit the wants and tastes of families.

The MGTO says that Lvmama is one of the partner organizations. Lvmama is now offering a VIP small-group tour plan for five days for groups of two to six people. This plan includes a stay in Macau and a trip to the Chimelong theme park in Hengqin, Zhuhai. The deal in question is an important part of a marketing effort that will last for a year and end in June 2024. Notably, both the MGTO and Lvmama help pay for the holiday packages by giving funding.

One of the available holiday options is for three nights and includes two nights at Hengqin hotels and one night at Lisboeta Macau, a non-gaming hotel complex in the Cotai area of Macau. The plan includes hotel stays, transportation services, tickets to Chimelong, and a trip to The Parisian Macao, a gambling resort on the Cotai strip. At the beginning of the week, it was thought that this bundle would cost about CNY4,000, which is about $548.

MGTO said that Ctrip and Qunar, two other internet travel companies based in China, promoted Macau-Hengqin package deals earlier this year in the Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau Greater Bay Area.

The MGTO wants to work more closely with online travel agencies so that trips to Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau can be planned whenever possible. MGTO has said that it wants to offer more tours in answer to what the market wants. At least 2015 is when the idea of trips with stops in both Hengqin and Macau for people on the mainland started to take shape.
