Zhuhai eases back to 48-hour COVID test requirement for arrivals from Macau
The Macau government has confirmed that, as of 6am on Monday 19 September, COVID-19 testing requirements for those entering Zhuhai from Macau have been eased to 48 hours.
Those in transit had previously been required to submit a negative test obtained within the previous 24 hours.
The restrictions currently in place relate to Macau’s first major outbreak of COVID-19, which began on 18 June and resulted in almost 1,821 positive cases before authorities were able to return to zero-COVID.
Having originally put in place a mandatory 7-day hotel quarantine requirement for Macau arrivals, Zhuhai first lifted quarantine from 29 June, then switched to a 24-hour testing verification requirement on 3 August.
After a month-and-a-half, Zhuhai has finally reverted back to a 48-hour test.
