Gambling firms among those treating Nottinghamshire MPs to £10,000 of sporting freebies

Nottinghamshire MPs have received almost £10,000 worth of free tickets to sporting events since the last general election, Nottinghamshire Live can reveal.

Members of Parliament from our county received a total of six freebie tickets to sporting events since the 2019 election.

Those tickets were worth a total of £9,539.91 between them, some of which came from companies linked to gambling.
There’s nothing in the rules against these freebies, as long as they’re logged in something called the Register of Members’ Financial Interests, which is where the figures in this article have been taken from.

Mark Spencer, MP for Sherwood, has received £4,991.31 worth of tickets.

The FA provided Mr Spencer with a ticket for England v Denmark at the Euros, valued at £3,474.51.

Mr Spencer also received two tickets for the British Grand Prix worth a total of £1,516.80 from Motorsport UK.
